No. — It’s a yes to myself.

In theory, it’s simple: we say yes when we want something. And no when we don’t. If only it were that simple in practice.

How often have I said yes without really wanting to. Out of habit, out of fear of consequences. To please someone. To avoid having to really engage with something. Or simply without noticing that I was agreeing at all.

How often have I not said no, even though I didn’t want something. Because it didn’t feel “right for the situation.” Because it never even occurred to me that I had a choice. Because I felt my inner no but didn’t take it seriously — or didn’t feel it at all. Because I was afraid of missing out, of hurting someone, or of later turning out to be wrong.

How often have I stayed in a situation that no longer worked for me. Because I had already said A and assumed B had to follow. Because I didn’t want to admit that something had shifted. And because it took me a long time to understand: every no held back is a missed yes to something else.

Over the years, I’ve become increasingly aware of my patterns. I learned to notice small signals in my body in the first place — to interpret them, to listen to them. I’ve learned about people pleasing and fawning — the pattern of automatically giving in, appeasing, making yourself smaller under pressure — and explored the question of yes and no from many different angles.

How authentic is your yes — and can I trust that you’ll say no when you mean it?

That’s a big question in the sex-positive scene (and in life in general) — and that’s why this workshop exists.

No. is a complete sentence.

And in this 3.5-hour workshop, we sit with the difficulty of saying it. Through different exercises, we tune into our nervous system. We try to notice what happens inside us when we say yes and no. And we keep returning to the question: what do I actually want?
