Sensation Play

What happens when we slow down and really pay attention to sensation?

How does it feel to be touched with something soft, rough, warm, cold, ticklish, sharp, heavy or unexpected? What changes when a sensation becomes more intense, or when it becomes almost unnoticeably subtle? And how can we communicate what we enjoy, what we are curious about, and what we would like to change?

Sensation Play is a guided workshop for exploring touch, bodily sensations and connection in a playful and curious way.

Throughout the workshop, we will experiment with a variety of different materials, textures and tools and explore the different sensations they can create on the body.

We will start gently, with time to arrive in the space and connect with ourselves and the group. From there, we will move into different exercises and connection games that help us explore giving, receiving, communicating and playing with different levels of intensity.

For the longer touch exploration, we will form small groups of around four people. In each round, one person gets to receive while the others offer different sensations. After around 10 minutes, we rotate, so everyone who wants to has the opportunity to receive.

You are always in charge of your own participation. You can choose which exercises you want to join, what parts of your body you are comfortable including, which tools you want to experience and with whom.

Watching, taking a break, changing your mind or sitting something out are always possible.

The workshop is not explicitly sexual, but it is sex-positive and there may be sensuality, intimacy and different levels of undress depending on people’s individual choices and boundaries.

You can come alone, with a partner, partners, friends or other people you already know.

You don’t need to bring someone to participate.
